Yes Houston.
Kind of a slap in the jaw to Kiffin......being a HC in the NFL...Tennessee....USC....3 years under Saban and get turned down by someone with no head coaching experience. Hummm.

Kiffin would have jumped at a Power 5 offer in a couple of years.....Applewhite will be there a while

I still like the concept of Lame getting slapped across the face by losing to someone with zero (0) HC experience Though I think Applewhite has potential.

I'd rather see Lane @ Houston instead of LSU!

FINALLY. Someone just said "no" to his BS. He is apparently the greatest used car salesman in the history of the universe. [imagine his jowly cheeks empty glazed eyes and monotone voice]. "This baby right here is almost brand new, only run into the ditch once, with minor damage, and the co-ed passenger was fortunately unhurt". But back on point...Al Davis got fooled, Hamilton got fooled, and Haden...well maybe Haden needed a fall guy. So I guess when you look at it that way, he fooled a mostly senile Al Davis and the worst AD in the history of Tennessee football. Maybe that does make sense.

IIRC he was the 4th choice for the USC job.

While I don't know the actual truth, some reports have said the negotiations broke down with Houston over the amount of the buyout. Houston doesn't want to be the springboard yet again to another job.
Regardless, some early reports claimed he will not be offered a new contract at Bama, and if he doesn't get the job at South Florida or Florida Atlantic he may end up as the OC at LSU. We'll see.
The two best things about his three seasons at Bama was his impressive work with three different and inexperienced QB's. The other was due to Saban's policy that prevents his assistants from speaking publicly, which allowed me three blissful years without having to hear his annoying smart-azz mouth.

Pretty sure he ends up at LSU, unless saban has a last minute change of heart due to not wanting that particular outcome. Kiffy might just know a bit too much.

The fact is he's the one that had issues with recruiting, not Saban. As I have mentioned, an earlier report said he will not be retained, so it doesn't sound as if Saban cares where he ends up as long as it's not within close proximity to him. BTW, some saying Sarkaisian will also not be retained. BG

Kiffin's done a great job at Bama, and his on-field product at UT was good. LSU OC would be a great position for him. Presumably he and Saban have butted heads a lot.

Funny you respond that way. What I meant was that he knows your offense inside and out, practically created the current playbook. He knows Hurt's tendencies. He probably is familiar with weaknesses of the OL. What tend to be the worst plays for a particular OL? When does the RT tend to miss an assignment? Even tells that Hurts and other players might give off before the snap. And so forth. But you immediately respond with the recruiting thing. Guess what? That's not unusual at all. I have had many bammer fans over the years tell me shizzle even before I knew it happened. A classic case is Richardson's baby momma house sitting for prominent bammer alumni in B-Ham for a continuous period of two years while they were "on vacation" (and her momma and both his chilluns). Almost as if...well.... But yeah, throw recruiting in there also. At the least, Kiffin knows how to undermine what bammer is doing. I am pretty sure he would not expose anything, he has too many skeletons in his own closet, as you indicate. But he might be able to peel a few recruits away.
