Do you think they would beat the Vols? I do not. Is all of their talent local Memphis talent?

I think in September they would have thumped us.  I think we beat them in November, particularly in Neyland.  Might be a bit tough at their place.

And yes, a lot of their players are from Memphis. I am sure you can find their roster online somewhere.

I attended the Memphis-Navy game earlier this year as a side trip from Tunica.  It was an enjoyable experience. I was rooting for Navy, though not very loudly.

They have just mind boggling talent on offense - so many home run hitters.  Their defense is terrible, however.  If our offense would show up for most of the game and play some grind it out, ball control football, we would beat them fairly comfortably.  They would have blown us the F out if we had played them in September.

Over the past 2 coaches they seem to find QB's that can hum it and WR's (mostly 2 stars BTW) that can run and catch it. They've also had some pretty good RB's the past several years. It's just a wide open spread it out offense thats fun to watch. When you run that type of heavy pass offense it can make the defense weaker. IMO that's why the past 2 years Bama's defense has regressed and the same for LSU's defense. Pretty much why the Big 12 is noted for not having much defense. I worked under a coach for several years that said..."Show me a soft offense and I'll show you a soft defense." That has pretty much held true over the years.

Welcome to carny barker hell

Yeah that, and IMO the higher number of overall plays in the hurry-up contributed to all the injuries we had with the carny barker. That and the lack of consistency with the strenth coach, but the number of plays definitely contributed.

Yep.  That's what I've been saying.  Neither team has less talent than before, both went to wide-open offenses, so what else would explain it?  D gets worn out.
