Briles is ancient, but IF he burns to get his name back hire the man. I'll take a guaranteed 4 years of solid management over a speculative guy who might last 10 years, or more likely mismanage for 3.

Plus Briles would probably be pretty cheap. He elevates the brand and then hiring his successor is easier.

Ancient?  He's 65.  Any idea how many coaches are his age or older in D1 and the NFL?  You  might be surprised.
