It seems that they want more because they are more valuable than the other members. Which is probably true.

But isn't this the thing that caused the Southwestern Conference to fall apart? Texas wanted the same thing.

They turned down their chance for a more competitive league and more revenue but were too scared to compete

tx destroyed not one but two conferences. And while I don’t think they can do the same to the SEC (they are far from the only big fish in this pond, and thus don’t have the leverage they had over the Baylors and Rices of the world), I’m still keeping an eye on them. I still think taking them in is a bad idea.

Yep....FSU had a chance to come to the SEC in 1992 IIRC?  But they were too chicken . Screw em. I think that's how Ark got in because FSU turned down the invite.

And they need  ask most of the SEC how they feel about Vandy getting a equal share of the pie
