Peyton isn't wrong about much, but I've never understood his infatuation with Letterman.

I think they became friends when Peyton was at Indianapolis. Dave's from Indiana.

I like Letterman. I always watched his shows instead of the other ones. Dave would irritate the high and mighty movie stars that would show up and expect just to plug their new movie. His sense of humor was more my style.

He's a bit more cerebral than any other late nighter. He will be missed ....at least by me.

Letterman was fine the first several years until he started with his far left liberal crap......I stopped watching him years ago.

Shows how different people see things differently.  I thought he was brutal to far left liberals as well as far right conservatives.  Whatever his personal politics, his political leaning was punch line.

I don't like any of the late-night comedians, to be honest. But Letterman is the worst of them all in my book. I just think he's a pretty sorry human being. In particular, his remark about Sarah Palin's 14-year-old daughter was ridiculous. Regardless of what anyone thinks about Palin's politics (I think she's a nut), that was ridiculously out of line.

I liked Letterman a lot in the 80s and early to mid 90s.  But then he got stale.  Same ole, same ole, over and over again.  Still far better than Leno though, who I truly despise both as a human being and a bland, unfunny so-called comedian.

I would still watch Letterman occasionally and felt he was the best late night guy until Fallon came along.  The remark about Palin's daughter was in fact pretty low, but I was more disgusted by the video of him having sex with an employee.

Still and yet, I watched the final show and enjoyed even though I had not watched him in a few years.  I appreciate the laughs he did give me, and he is a Hoosier so there's that.   :naughty:
