Soccer is just a game. It is a shame that some citizens in this country allow the symbol of this country to be usurped by carpetbagger groups. I served under the flag and know full well what values it represents. These groups do not own the flag. I as an American citizen define the values and those values were NOT oppression. Anyone who allows other groups to redefine what the flag represents does so because they have not vested any part of their own lives into defining our collective said values.

Well, the banning of the flag is offensive.  I don't think it's fair to blame it on soccer though.  This easily could have happened at an NFL game IMO. 

And I don't care who has co-opted the Betty Ross flag.  It's ridiculous to ban it.

With God as my witness, I am 59, grew up in the south, and have NEVER seen the Betsy Ross flag used as a symbol of hatred/racism. I am sure some dumbass or two have used it before, but those shouldn’t be able to dictate agenda.

I know, right?  But apparently some groups have, recently.  Colin Kopernick started it all with a protest of Nike using it on some shoes.  Effing ridiculous.
