…and will go for the sweep tomorrow.

Our closer Redmond Walsh recorded his 2nd save. That number seems suspect for an 18-1 team, until you remember that it’s only a save when the winning margin is 3 runs or less, and we’ve been blowing everyone out by double-digits.

TV is gonna do great things here, I think. Hopefully we can hold on to him for years to come.

Pitching has been pretty darn good, and we are still missing our top 2 returning arms
Offense, simply outstanding

I’m thinking the offense will come back to earth somewhat as we get into SEC play, but the pitching is better than last year. We have 4-5 guys who can run it up at 100+.

I had no clue our pitching would be this good. My goodness this squad is fun.

Drew Beam’s stat line looked like Maddux today.
7.2 ip, 0 runs, 1 hit (and it was questionable- hometown scorer probably should’ve ruled it an error), 67 strikes, 19 balls.

Vols lead 8-0 in the 8th.

The real gauntlet begins next weekend at Vandy.

I just learned his name is pronounced Vie-tello. Did not know that. Pretty good hire by John Currie

Oh, Ben Joyce's final two pitches to close out today's game:

99 mph breaking ball
104 mph gas

I'm not sure which is more impressive.
