So the fruit company did fly me out to interview Monday. It was the most grueling thing I have ever gone through. I talked with about 9 people over a span of 7 hours. Lots of technical talk, lots of repetitive questions. I think I came out ok - we will see if they offer. I am not sure they will, I was one of 11 candidates they interviewed for the position. It's a pretty strong position.

If they do offer I would have a lot to think about. Not sure I would accept or not, but it would definitely be a huge career move.

If they flew you out, they are interested for sure. Just being nosy what is it you do anyway ? That is if you don't mind saying.

Congratulations on a) getting an on-site and b) surviving said on-site. That sounds rough.

I don't mind. I'm a program manager, but I have a product and quality engineering background. Work in consumer/business hardware and electronics industry.

It was worse than getting wisdom teeth pulled. Just a long long day.

I guess you'd have to move a considerable distance. Making these moves is pretty easy when one is young.....more to think about when one is older. Whatever you decide I hope it works out well for you.

you would be on their main campus?

That is a really nice area
However, it IS California

Yes, I'd be based out of Cupertino. Liked the area a lot, but it is expensive to live there.

Before I retarded retired, I worked with Northrop Grumman engineers out of Sunnyvale; they all said that home prices had jumped so much that they could no longer have afforded to buy them! Some of their younger  (and well paid) engineers had to rent, because they couldn't qualify for a sufficient loan. Prices may have dropped since then, but I'll bet they're still insane!

They have dropped a lot since the housing bust, but still pretty high
