Title: $3.6M/year with a 2 year extension
Post by: PirateVOL on December 08, 2014, 04:31:26 EST
Not bad for 6-6 :powert:

Hopefully this will put to rest most of the Butch to UM rumours :banghead:

A deal needed to get done, and I think that one is effective and fair. $250k extra for assistants was worked in there too.

We were hoping for a bowl this year (I was expecting 5 wins) and we got one, so I think we're on track. Now we should be expecting the win totals to increase in years 3 and 4, IMO.

Not in favor of this, particularly the extension. 6 and 6 I'd just not worthy of a raise.

I do like the move as a vote of confidence though and it will help build momentum.

Wr saw with Fulmer that extensions can increase buyout costs though.

I agree with Clocky.  I think it fair and reasonable.  Progress has been demonstrated.  The team has improved year to year and within the season.

The move of Robertson from DL to OL in retrospect was a great move.  We would NOT be at 6-6 if the move isn't made as most of our run success has been behind Robertson pulling.

IMO, the bump is deserved as progress on the field has been demonstrated, but that's just part of the reason for the increase.  Hart and the administration at UT are fully aware the cupboard was bare when Jones arrived. He's done exceptionally well in getting the talent upgraded, and has unified the fan based once again. They know he's done as well as could be expected, and almost certainly exceeded expectations in recruiting.
