Title: SC's Deebo Samuel will not play in Belk Bowl...
Post by: Black Diamond Vol on December 03, 2018, 11:24:18 EST
So this is a thing now- where healthy players pull out of postseason games to protect their draft status.

How about this- the day after their last regular season game, every healthy player on every bowl-eligible team has to declare their intention to play or not. Then, the bowls can use that info to determine whether they want to invite that team.

I can somewhat understand it

I can too. It's a business decision. But those decisions should work both ways. The bowls are all about TV ratings. If, say, the Alamo bowl invites Washington State thinking they're going to get an All American QB like Gardner Minshew, and and then Minshew decides to sit it out, the bowl may want to re-think their decision.

Yeah that is fair
