He turned down UK, presumably hoping for some interest from UT. Then he was headed to Colorado when it appeared UT had its man. When that fell through, he balked. Now there are reports that he may turn down the Colorado job. I think he's kept one eye on what's happening in Knoxville this entire time and if UT calls, he says yes.

I'm not sure how I feel about UT hiring a guy who has an 0-1 career record against Derek Dooley.

Pat Fitzgerald of Northwestern is a damn good coach who is great at making chicken salad out of chicken shizzlee in a place where it's hard as hell to recruit

Butch Jones can coach.  He is going to be a superstar-someday-my only question is whether he ready for the pressure cooker?

How bout we save time...give me a list of who is not a "damn good coach" and I will notify Hart not to bother with them.

If signs are pointing to Jones, I guess it won't be Jones.

If UT decides to go after Jones, it will be Jones.

If they thought he would accept, they wouldn't go after him.

I know you're not serious, but pish.  The offer to Gundy may have been for appearance sake...we want to go after the best candidates, etc, but Strong was a real pursuit and almost succeeded.  Strong did call it the toughest choice of his career.

He inherited a very solid program at Cincinnati from Brian Kelly, and each year it has gotten progressively worse.  Not who I would like to see come to UT!
