What I wonder is if they're just making presumptions like everyone else or if he's actually said something in conversation to those guys? Most of them would be too professional to just come right out and say something like "Jon Gruden would like to be the coach at Tennessee," but they can say things like, "Well, if I were guessing, Gruden would like to coach at Tennessee." Say it without saying it, more or less.

He also said that he expects Gruden to coach again and he knows that the collegiate game intrigues him.

Tying someone to a job because his wife is from that area is the type of nonsense fans fall for. Much as I do not like Mortensen, he's going on a little more than that. If he thinks Gruden might be interested in the UT job, rest assured that he's got something besides Mrs. Gruden being from East Tennessee to back that up.
