The WinePost©

"When there is plenty of wine, sorrow and worry take wing."-- Ovid 17AD, The Art of Love

The wines presented here on The WinePost© are usually good affordable wines. With some exceptions, the wines have been in the price range of those who are casual wine drinkers or people who are new to wine. Most casual wine drinkers, and even many serious ones, never fork out a large wad of cash for one bottle of wine. They don't have to. Never have so many good wines been offered from so many producers at prices that appeal to a wide variety of consumers. I drink whites costing as little as $15.00. Sometimes less.

But to drink a "great" wine, you will have to part with a Grant, and maybe a Jackson or two. The top wines cost much more, not just because of quality, but because of the amount produced. The number of cases produced is much less than the mass-produced wines on the market.

So if you have a special occasion coming up, or if you just want to try one of the great ones, pry open the wallet and experience the best of wine. That's what I'm doing for the season finale of The WinePost©

Tonight's feature: Lewis Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley (2003)($70.00 in 2007)

This is an outstanding wine from my favorite Cabernet producer. The excellent aromas are noticed as soon as you uncork the bottle. They continue after you swirl it and take a good sniff from the glass. If you've never had the pleasure of drinking a great wine, you will notice a difference immediately. And then you get to drink it. To call it full-bodied doesn't do it justice. It has bold dark fruit with hints of chocolate and cedar. The tannic bite on the end is firm but not bitter. This is a 94 point wine; and it shows. It costs what it costs, but you won't mistake it for anything you've been drinking before. Live a little.

Enjoy!

And I want you to notice, I hit the time of the post right on the nose. Appropriate for the season finale.

It isn't easy on this board which shows the seconds.

All men dream: but not equally.
Those who Dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds
Wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the
Dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they
May act their dream with open eyes, to make it Possible.
This I did.
