What exactly will our RB rotation be? There's not room for Neal, Lane, Young and Watson to all get reps so what happens?
Corollary to the above, how much better is the rushing attack this year?

I think a depth chart (possibly useful, possibly misinformation) comes out today. My guess is Neal will be listed #1 if for no other reason than there's not much film on him. It that makes NC State waste extra prep time it serves a purpose even if he won't carry the load this year.
My impression is Dooley likes to keep folks guessing as much as possible. There's nothing wrong with that.

The general vibe from Dooley and Jay Graham is that Neal has done what he needs to do to be the #1 tailback, and that Young is probably your #2. In terms of carries, right now it looks like those two would get the most, with Lane and Watson getting fewer in general.
But I am getting the feeling that one of the reasons Dooley hates all the depth chart questions is that he uses personnel situationally rather than in depth chart order (though all coaches do this to one degree or another). I suspect it would be more appropriate to group them by skill set. In that sense, perhaps you'd see Lane more likely to be the 2nd guy in for short yardage (when Neal may be your first choice), with Watson the 2nd guy in situations when Young would be the 1st choice.
The fun part is that all of this could change just a few minutes into the first game.

Neal is the #1, Young #2, and Marlin Lane will play. Young seems like more of a scatback, so I'd say we will sometimes see two RBs.
Watson probably won't get more than 3-4 touches a game, but the coaches have to let him do something with his speed.

Thank you gentlemen. That makes sense. I'll be interested to see who turns into our tough yards back. It seems we've got some explosiveness, but we've got to have someone who can convert on 3rd and 2.

I was thinking all along that Neal should be first, Lane second, but I am okay with Young second.
Neal has the best stats on paper from last year - better YPC- and I also just thought he looked really good running the ball. He definitely had the most power of anyone we ran it with last year, and probably just as much speed.
Of course, the big question is, can he hold on to the ball? I think if he can, he will be a pleasant surprise for us.
