Need a stop here.  That last series was the first I thought the offense didn't do well, we need to stop them, drive down for a TD and get the Mo back.  That would almost stick a fork in them.  :powert:

on 3rd down the TE runs a shallow square in, not a deep pattern to run off the defenders so we lose yards

The defense is playing well
Not getting consistent pressure but getting enough to be a factor
Whenever Perce is on their FR OT the usually brought over their TE to help
Got gashed on a jet sweep but otherwise contained their running game
I?d ditch the zone blitz, cost us twice on one drive

On offense, really only one bad series
We have been using more to line on the the drives than usual
Joe is really our only effective running game
Small out playing Wright
Sampson with some quality time and his presence on the last TD helped

The OL played the entire half as a unit
Mincey struggled a bit but held up overall

What I love, is Satan can't keep up appearances now that he doesn't have more talent than literally the next two best teams in the SEC combined.

If you look really closely, the LB (no. 44...not sure who that is) actually did punch the ball. It's just that full speed it looks like he punched the player.

While catching up I learned we were up 20-7 at the half. How did this meltdown ensue?

bammer played well first couple series, scored and stopped us, then I think they got a FG on their 2nd drive.  Then we went for it 4th and 1 at our own 48 and failed.

I think universally everyone think that should have been a punt.  We were still up 20 17 at that point.

Plenty of blame to go around, imo. Didn?t capitalize with TDs in the 1st half. Some questionable play calls. Mistakes/penalties. Officials didn?t help.

Agree.  We all know we?d be fighting an uphill battle? you can?t help them the way we did.  Heupel pored all the momentum on their side with that stupid 4th down gamble.

Like I say above, he should have learned from the first failure.  We were fortunate to get an int on the rebounded pass.

If we had scored TD's the two times we had 1st and goal in the first half, I think Bama would have wilted and we could have won. But, you can't beat a good team with FG's when you're that close.

Oh well, I didn't expect to win. But they teased me and got my hopes up.  :frown:

That hurt.  Left the door wide open for everything else to snowball against us.

All I have to say about the game is "well dang". It wasn't all on Milton. Heupel had a part in it too. I guess their halftime adjustments were a little better than ours. Sucks after a promising first half. We still have some tough outings left. Will we be favored against UK and Mizzu?

 
We are definitely favored vs UK.  ESPN App says 77%. Spread is 3.5 in our favor.
