I think Bray is making a mistake not coming back for another season. All in all with Tennessee losing Bray,Patterson and Justin Hunter I don't think Tennessee will be any better than 4-8

Dude we'll be better than that.  Those three were not our entire team, believe it or not.

It may take Butch as long as it took Johnny Majors to turn Tennessee's program back around. However, the Fans probably wont be that patient

Apparently Bray coming back was just not an option.  Too many bridges have been burned.

Nope,I love the Vols! I'm just very concerned about the QBs and WRs going into 2013. I'd be the happiest Man on My block if Tennessee was Bowling this time in 2013

You keep saying that, but Coach Jones and AD Hart have both said that Dooley left a solid foundation.  If Dooley should have won 7 or 8 games in 2012 (and I certainly believe he should have), then anything less than 7-5 next season will be a disappointment from Jones.  He's suppposed to be a step up.  If he's not a step up in 2013, when he has said he was left good players, then that's a first year failure IMO.  Looking at the schedule, I think winning seven games is an entirely reasonable expectation for 2013.  And, if they win at least one game they are not expected to win, all the better.  Dooley left Jones a lot more than Battle left Majors.

So am I generally, but I am no longer willing to give up realistic expectations and substitute hope.  I said the Vols would go 6-6 last season after seeing the UF game, and they didn't even do that.  Then again, Dooley's coaching cost them at least two games IMO.  I expect much better from Coach Jones.

You're basing that on what you saw the last 3 years, though. Yeah, without Bray, Patterson or Hunter I wouldn't expect Dooley to finish better than 4-8 in 2013 either. Sometimes a new coach makes all the difference.

Regarding expectations for UT in 2013, from the outside I see UT going about 6-6.  Give or take a game.

A. Peay - W for UT
W. Kentucky - W
Oregon - L
Florida - L
S. Alabama -W
UGA - L
USCe - L
Bama - L
Mizzou - W
AU - L
Vandy - W
UK - W

Assumptions:
a. Jones and his staff are better coache's than Dooley's.  (but not by a lot.  I.e., Jancek/Martinez will have to prove themselves, etc.)
b. UT loses Bray, Patterson and Hunter (along with Rivera, that is a lot of your O firepower).
c. Changing coaching staffs and systems doesn't usually pay dividends until the 2nd year.  Expect a learning curve.
d. UT's season will come down to the 3-game stretch of Missouri, Auburn and Vanderbilt.  All of which are toss-ups at this point.  Most likely is that UT goes 2-1 in this stretch.

Regardless of the gaudy numbers he's put up at TN, I didn't want Bray back anyway.  Totally fed up with his attitude.

I can see us beating both USC and Auburn.  I guess we will find out.
