Speculation that he is not likely to be back. The speculation on VQ is that he wants to avoid more injuries to be ready for the NFL combines, he doesn’t like school and has grade issues which would make him ineligible for a bowl game anyway, or both of the above.

Meaning? Is he injured or have they benched him for some reason?

They haven't said on the broadcast what Payton's injury was (that I've heard).  It seemed to be an arm or a shoulder injury.

Losing Payton early certainly didn't help us any.

Yep, tactical error there for sure.  You HAVE to AT LEAST throw it up for grabs on 4th down in the red zone.  I think we should have kicked a FG there and that is not hindsight.  No need to panic yet.  We can still play a little conservative here and there.

That is what I meant, CDV.  It is 4th down, you have to try to complete a pass even if it is impossible.

I don't think it was a designed run because none of the receivers on that side blocked.  He probably had that option if it was there, but I think that they were looking to complete a pass there.

I didn't like the play call.  It takes away half the field and makes the throw that much more difficult.

On that 4th down play, Hooker has to give a receiver a chance to make a play.  He can't just throw it out of the endzone on 4th down.

The "catch" was indeed a catch.  Their defense ruled us after the first three possessions.

Hooker hasn't been on, but he's under a lot of pressure.

No more Turnovers!!!!! We cannot do that and have a chance.

He clearly threw it away, but the back was close enough to not be flagged.

The running back (#3) whiffed on the block and was in the area.

I wish that I shared the optimism of some about the game this weekend. 

I'm afraid that we will have to play a really good game to keep it within 3 TD's.  UGA's defense is just strong and fast that I really think that we will have trouble moving the ball against them, even with an up-tempo strategy.

If I’m not mistaken, on the Payton TD, Jones started about 10 yards behind three(?) defenders and passed the last one at about the 10 yard line.

I know I view things through orange lenses but I think things are on the move up. 

I think if Vol fans aren’t excited about the possibilities with this staff, I don’t know what to tell them.

These kids play hard, even when “dog tired”, and are exciting as heck on offense.

With some depth, I’m hoping that this staff can finally turn the tide.

We gave up over 600 yards on 99 plays and still get the W!!!  That is unbelievable.  Great win for this team.

Kentucky is 11 of 13 on 3rd down. Our D is outmanned but at some point you just have to execute. Our 3rd down defense is atrocious.

That holding penalty was critical on their last drive.  I know that's not some huge revelation, I'm just saying.

The blitz off that side made that the hot read.  The QB is taught to throw to the side of the blitz in hot situations and Taylor was in perfect position!!!!

And force a turnover or two. Or failing that, have the ball last.

He should definitely be able to recruit some offensive players.  This offense is fun to watch, even though it wears the defense out every game.
