I vaguely remember some grumblings about a waiver, but I never realized how close we came to going to Memphis in December.  I guess I forgot about the Vols getting COVID, or maybe I never heard this.....y'all remember any of this.  It's not like it happened a long time ago     Damn I am getting old and senile.......

Yes, the “COVID issue” arose about the time Jeremy was informed to take a (greatly) reduced buyout to be fired outright
Amongst is other poor decisions, he made the decision to reject the offer
Also, some of the exodus was most likely “encouraged”

It's  not senility.  Last season was so bad we have all just tuned it out.  I did remember we turned down an offer from the Liberty Bowl, but I forgot that we played Auburn last year.  And just now, I had to check to realize we also played Arkansas.  It was a very forgettable season, moreso from covid.  It SHOULD be forgotten!

Whoa. I'd totally forgotten about that.

we were going to the Liberty Bowl until crap hit the fan....UT backing out allowed Army to take our spot...Army was being left out of a bowl with a 9-2 record due bowls being cancelled due to Covid and so many teams opting out. Army was going to the Independence Bowl but the other team had to opt out leaving Army without a game until we withdrew. West Virginia beat Army 24-21.
