As of 10:45 a.m., the Vols sit at #11 nationally on Rivals with 19 signees - 6 of which are four stars.  That is currently good enough for 4th in the SEC (behind #1 UGA, #2 A&M, and #3 Alabama).

Sounds like it's going better than some thought.  Yesterday, Basilio was all doon and gloom.

We could sign 15 people from a Clinton Highway Dollar General and improve the roster, but this seems quite promising. Aside from RB and hopefully DB no one has to play immediately.

Plug in some transfers and let's go.

11 is very encouraging if we can hold it.  247 has us lower at 23, but when I last checked a couple weeks ago Rivals was 21 and 247 was 33, so the increase is the same in both.

Rivals now has us at #10, 4th in the SEC but ESPN just showed us as 9th in the SEC. Who knows?

We have moved up to 10th on Rivals.

More exciting, that is 4th in the SEC!  The highest in a long time, if we can hold it.

Of course, bama, uga and Tamu are 1-3, so we are a long way behind them, but at least we are up on everyone else.

ESPN has us at 23. I prefer the Rivals rating.

The best thing is I trust this staff's ability to coach up whoever arrives.

So, this staff did this in year 1...

After going 3-7 last year and an off-season that saw total upheaval and NCAA looming?

Bravo.  Well done.

Yup.  It's just one season, but is the most impressive season 1 of the Fulmer era.  Kiffin had the same record, and arguably a better quality win or two, but his team also slumped near the end of the season.  If we beat Purdue, it will unquestionably be the best first year of any successor to Fulmer, and that includes losing ~ 30 players to the portal.

I will say the transfer portal thing is a bit overstated, since we got 10 mostly high quality players transfer to us, and held on to a number of super seniors. I read that we actually had 78 on scholarship was all said and done.
