Crowd yesterday was at about 60%. Pitiful but exactly what it should be. There's got to be a change soon. I really thought that it (the firing) should come after the season but I'm not so sure now. I still think he should finish the season but with a different DC.

That's about the same number of Vol fans that showed up for bammer.  The difference is, Troy didn't bring 50,000 of their own fans to fill it up.

That is the picture of apathy right there. I don't think a coach at a major college program has ever survived something like that. If Dooley survives -- and I don't think he will -- this fan base might become so disillusioned with Tennessee football that this program is literally set back decades. I don't think that's a hyperbolic statement. Everyone knows that the longer a program is down, the harder it is to resurrect it. This is a crucial moment in Tennessee football history for Dave Hart and Jimmy Cheek (if, as some insist, Cheek is intricately involved in this process).

My brother's nephew guessed 70,000.  Official attendance was 84,189.

Yeah... let's make sure we get those exaggerations corrected!

For a reason...it matters to me if bama filled half our stadium.  That would be a horrible day for Tennesse, period.  We would, in fact, on that day, be like Vandy.

If it's 30,000, which was reported in 3 media stories I saw, then that's still pretty bad but not "Vandy-bad".

These things actually matter to me.  Might not matter to others, to which I say.... (insert icon for shrugging here  )

Here's one of the media accounts.  There are plenty of others.

http://www.govolsxtra.com/news/2012/oct/21/south-carolina-quarterback-connor-shaw-likely-to/?print=1

Some in the press box thought that 30,000 fans or more might have been Alabama partisans.

Every single account I have seen said 30,000 or about a third, which is basically the same thing.

Those that hate Dooley and want him out want it to be more, because they think it makes his ouster more likely.  Wanting it so, and it actually being so...two different things.

I don't care how bad we are or how horrible our coach is, I never want ANY opposing team to outnumber us or even be 50-50 in our own stadium, let alone BAMA.  But maybe that's just me....

Hate to tell you this, but we're a heck of lot more like Vandy right now than the schools we once called our "peers".  And unless there's a change at the top, it's only going to get worse.

Oh, I'm well aware of that, but I hope that no matter how bad we get, we don't stoop to supporting the team as badly as Vandy.

I agree with you. And there may well be more Vandy fans at the game because I think they believe they will beat us and they all want to be there to see it.

Well since it's in Nashville it wouldn't surprise me at all.  We don't even quite outnumber them every single year even when we are good.

Sorry Bandit, but you are just plain nuts.  Every time we play in Nashville, there is just as many, if not more, UT fans than Vandy fans.

Always.  Every even year for as far back as I can remember.  This year may be the exception.

May be.  I have only been there once, a couple years ago, and it was pretty close IMO.

Mostly I am saying, they outnumber us in their own stadium, in a year they are pretty good, ICCL.
