Title: It's not just The Strip that's changing Post by: Black Diamond Vol on February 26, 2023, 02:27:31 EST It sounds like the entire campus will be unrecognizable in the 5 years, to include a new hotel right next door to Neyland.
Of course, it will never be a world class campus until they find a way to fix their two biggest problems: the railroad that cuts the campus in two, and the sewage treatment plant right next door. :frown: https://masterplan.utk.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/33/2023/01/2023-01-24-UTK-MP-Town-Hall.pdf Title: Re: It's not just The Strip that's changing Post by: BanditVol on February 27, 2023, 11:26:39 EST Those two things proiminently mentioned in an article i read a few months ago. All very true.

End Neyland from the east at Calhoun's, from the west at Thompson-Boling. That would benefit the riverfront, but traffic would be a bigger nightmare than it is now, IMO. One interesting thinig is that the south side of the river is really developing. Add a couple passenger bridges and businesses on that side may thrive. |
