Channel 611 is what I've read on other boards and part of the Choice package.

Is it going to be a pay package or will I just be able to watch with my regular package?

I could be wrong, but it is my understanding that if you have "Choice" or higher you'll get it automatically if you live in an SEC state.

You can add in the Sports Pack and get it.  The Sports Pack has all the Sports Channels available in the 600 range including all the different Fox Sports Regional Channels if you so want it.

What is absolute cheapest amount I can be out per month to get the SEC Network? I mean long term. I don't want $40 that increases to $90 in years 2 through 8.

EmerilVOL,
I will be gone for several weeks during the time UT is playing.  Besides I'm cheap, if it isn't included I won't pay extra.

If only we knew anything about...money, our network might be half as successful as LHN.

Was there ever any doubt on this? Yes, there was consternation among people who had TV providers that had not yet signed on, and it's true that the negotiations can drag on up to the last moment and sometimes past, such as the negotiations pertaining to carrying certain cable networks. But really, if it all works out with networks that have at best a couple of million viewers, were the TV providers really not going to grab a piece of 90 million viewers?

Can you imagine the cancellations, especially from subscribers in the south, ocurring at one time with any provider that didn't sign on to the SEC Network? Financial disaster.

Money talks. Loudly. Even if it takes a while.

What a lot of people forgot is that ESPN's entire contract was being negotiated with DirecTV and the SEC Network was part of that discussion as well as all the lawyers that were involved.  Have you ever seen two lawyers disagree with the meaning of one word in a contract...oh wait of course you have nevermind.......
