Which, is as it should be because I detest Spurrier and losing to him is a terminable offense in my opinion. Unfortunately, I have to give the devil his due - but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I contend to this day he is the reason for Fulmer's downfall. Not because he beat him consistently, but when Spurrier left FL, Fulmer didn't have an opponent to drive him the way Spurrier did. That, in my opinion, is when Fulmer got complacent.

That, in my opinion, is when Fulmer got complacent. Perhaps, but I submit it was the lack of discipline on the offensive side of the football. Fulmer was not by nature a disciplinarian. Cut and the Chief did that. When Cut left he lost an effective OC. Yeah we won for a couple of year, on inertia but eventually the weakness of Sanders crippled us. The return of Cut brought a brief return but only briefly. Caroll and Harbaugh come to mind. It's all about the staff he could put together, IMO. Assuming there is enough $$$ for it, Gruden could put together a helluva group of coaches.
