https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/38914714/michigan-jim-harbaugh-accepts-big-ten-3-game-suspension

Michigan fans and the University itself have been loudly complaining about Harbaugh's suspension, but I think the Commissioner has been pretty clever.  Think about it.

1. Michigan does fine without Harbaugh on the sideline.  They did well earlier this year, and again on Saturday.
2. The players are actually motivated by it
3. It makes it look like the Big 10 has acted and is "being tough".
4. However the suspension is only for the remaining regular season.
5. It (most significantly) does NOT affect the postseason (and the millions the Big 10 will rake in) and helps head off any move by the NCAA

No wonder UM has accepted it.  Its a good deal, actually!

And it ONLY applies to the games themselves
HE really isn't suspended - anybody that openly cheated like that has a method for him to participate from the lockerroom

All men dream: but not equally.
Those who Dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds
Wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the
Dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they
May act their dream with open eyes, to make it Possible.
This I did.
—T. E. Lawrence,
The Seven Pillars of Wisdom
