Gruden said the 1st down fiasco call could demoralize SC. I thought it would make them mad. Sure enough,  Clowney took the runner's head off. Hardest hit I've seen all season.

I've seen harder hits- the fact that the RB's helmet went flying probably made it look harder than it really was (but it was plenty hard, for sure).  But the athleticism and timeliness of it made it one of the best hits I've ever seen.  I mean, he literally got to the RB before the ball did.  And to do it immediately after the bad call and take back the momentum...wow.

What BDV said.  All things considered, one of if not the best hit I've ever seen.  That made me jump off the couch and rewind and rewatch several times!

That's the type of play a guy like that makes, and is why he is a difference maker. We need Carl Lawson in this class!

You must be new here.  UT doesn't believe special teams (other than the occasional Colquitt).  In fact, UT's special teams usually make a Sunseri-coached defense look competent by comparison.

Problem is, they have two on scholly. They won't have three kickers on scholarship. Someone will have to go. Maybe Darr.

I don't think Palardi was near as bad as some think.  I think Dooley took a stupid approach with him, yanking him constantly for Broadus and killing his confidence.  Note to Dooley...confidence is a big part of kicking FGs....

Back on the topic of the hit by Clowney...it's too bad he can't go pro this year (especially since we play them next year, lol).  That hit was worth at least a million or two extra in his first year contract.

I think that hit officially kicked off his Heisman campaign for next year.

If he comes back to school, he deserves the Heisman.

He's definitely coming back cause he's just a sophomore.  But he's already said next year is his last, which everyone pretty much knew anyway.

He may deserve consideration, but that remains to be seen.  Since the award is supposed to be about the particular season, not the overall body of work (example = Peyton Manning), he'll need a monster 2013 and South Carolina will have to have a very good or great season.  Also, the current Heisman winner will be back and will probably be the frontrunner unless/until he messes up.  As Manti T'eo showed this season at ND, it's tough to win as a pure defensive player, even if you lead your team to an undefeated season and number 1 BCS ranking.
