Should be a great Sunday.....Odd for the Masters to go off early in threesomes off the front and back but if it's there tomorrow like it's been here in west tn today no way could they get it in Sunday.

We're supposed to get severe storms here in the AM. I just hope I don't lose power or else I'll miss it. :banghead:

And THIS is why the 12th is the greatest hole in golf. :wow:

If you ever wanted to see how majors are lost, see number 12.  :banghead:

It was a great tournament, and I'm not that keen on watching golf but I enjoyed it.  And yes, it's big news that Tiger finally won another major.  But my gosh, Jim Nance virtually wet himself several times over.   I mean, it wasn't THAT big of a deal.  To hear him talk we had just witnessed the second coming of Christ.    :dielaughing:

Tiger getting back in the winner's circle in a major championship is, in my opinion, a huge feat considering all of the medical issues that he has had to endure.  It is a testament to his drive and to modern medical technology.

That said, as with other majors that Tiger has won, I think it was as much a meltdown by the competitors as it was a comeback win for Tiger.  As in days of old, the competition seems to gag themselves out of contention when he is near the top of the leaderboard on Sunday.

Right around the time the leaders made the turn yesterday, I was thinking just the opposite. When Molinari kept sinking putt after putt, I thought, "Tiger has physicially come all the way back. But no one is intimidated by him anymore, and that's why he's not going to pull this off".

Then it happened, just like it did time after time 20 years ago.

Tiger's mental game is probably the strongest of any athlete ever in any sport. :wow:

Even then Molinari was struggling, it was only a matter of time before he did something his putter couldn't save him from - predicted that at the turn, though I didn't expect him to pull a Shark at 15

I agree. He was not playing that well but he was scrambling magnificently up to number 12.

The tee shot at 12 was a total mental breakdown. First, you don't go at that flag with a 2 shot lead. You aim between the bunkers, so that if you miss either short or long the worst you have is a bunker shot. Secondly, he choked down on the club and looked to swing about 80%. If you are going at the right side you hit it so that you miss long - don't leave any possibility of hitting into Raes Creek.

The third shot on 15 I thought was just flat our poor execution.

Tiger just kept the pressure on all day and stayed on their heels and they didn't handle it well. Tiger played very well.

Good post......Tiger played like a person that already had 4 green jackets. On 12 he went to the middle of the green.....on 15 he went to the middle. Others lost it on those holes.

TBH, and I've played a bit of golf though not particularly well, I was surprised how high Koepka, Molinari, and Finau hit their balls. Maybe Tiger did too. Seems a pro could have clipped some height. Tiger did play it safe. Smart!
