Their D backs are pretty dang good.  Our rcvrs don't seem to be all that great getting open and then, well, there is the Gitmo factor.  Doesn't seem to be a good matchup there at all.  Their rush D the last few games has not been great.  We need to have a lot of success running the ball.  I imagine Arky will have a D gameplan designed to stop our run, which probably is not too hard to conjure up.  Our run attack is not all that imaginative.   Arky should come out challenging us to pass.

Everyone we play....even the lowly OOC teams we played the past 4 years dares Gitmo to beat them with his arm. The DC of those teams should be fired if he didn't.

Hey I got a debrief on New Horizons from the MSE today (me and the rest of my team on a project called NEA Scout).

I learned of the "fictitious third body".  Assume you were involved with that.

I have been full time on Solar Probe.  I have heard NH was up and running again for a bit and they had some minor issues, but you may know more about this third body thing than me :-)  Working from home keeps you as isolated as ever I guess.

Oh okay.  The fictitious third body is a way of tricking the scanning camera into moving at the right rate as they flew by the Kepler body object. The one once named Ultima Thule, but changed for PC reasons.

Oh, I see what you are referencing - yeah I do remember that.  I think they did that with Pluto flyby rehearsals as well.  I helped hone that concept when we were on MESSENGER - the Mercury program.  During post launch checkout we ran a dress rehearsal in flight of a Venus Flyby.  It was a little weird loading a fictitious Venus ephem into the Target ephem memory.  But yeah, I helped develop that concept initially and did the high fidelity simulation runs on it.  the Mission Design team provided the SPICE files with the fictitious body.  The whole purpose was to ensure the spacecraft could handle all the pointing slews that would be necessary.  This solution was really the best way to do it.  Goodness - that seems like ages ago.  I guess Ultima Thule is called Arrokoth now? I forget.

This Rocket Science stuff has to STOP!
After all, this interesting exchange (most of which went into orbit over my head) is getting in the way of our whining about the football team!

Indeed!  But back on topic....Ark D comes out and tries to force us to run.  We are probably going to try to establish the run.  Do you think Chaney will anticipate Arky loading up the box and draft an offensive gameplan accordingly?    I guess some kind of quick hit play action stuff would be the way to go - but I am no offensive guru.

Teams always stacks the box against us and have since Gitmo has been the QB.

Pretty great stuff, I'll ask the MSE for some more documentation.
