This is sounding more and more like Debbie Jennings using Pat to try to further her agenda.

Dave Hart is a guy that will make the tough calls and that is what Tennessee needs and if Tennessee runs a guy like that off, they deserve what they are going to get which is another weak AD who doesn't have the stones to make stuff happen.

Considering the affidavit was taken BEFORE the original suit and just now added seems to indicate to me that all Jennings is after is money.

I suspect a strongly worded response to the update will soon be forthcoming from the University.  Something along the lines for Jennings to continue to pound sand until she forms glass.

This is really a sad twist to have Pat's name involved considering her health.

You can tell what a real friend to Pat this woman is/was in that she forced her to write this. This probably ruined any chances this woman had of winning anything and you know Pat did not want to have to call her out like that.

These are my opinions and only my opinions. These opinions are based on my dealings with bureaucracies for over 25 years.

Has anyone even considered that Pat's money from UT may be contingent on her saying Hart did not force her out?  Her retirement very likely includes a confidentiality agreement to continue receiving benefits.

Because of Pat's dementia, her affidavit and later denial are one and the same. They have no value. As one who has had to deal with an Alzheimer's victim, you could not trust or be upset by anything they said. You may love and worship Pat for the person she was, but that person does not exist any longer.

IMO, what Pat said about Hart forcing her out is probably true. I also think Hart called Pat into his office and called it all a misunderstanding. Pat cannot reason well enough to know the difference. As far as she knows, maybe she did misunderstand it. I love Pat for everything she did for UT and the program.  But the truth is that Pat does not exist anymore ever since the dementia began its attack on her brain. The personality that was Pat does not exist anymore. Her testimony is worthless because so is too sick to be believed either way.

UT was legally within the terms of the contract of relieving her of her duties, they should have done it, and I will forever believe Hart did it. Pat is a loyal Vol and agreed to say she quit on her own terms for the good of UT. That is why she retired with the financial arrangement she did. That is the way business handles delicate situations. With money. It always comes down to money.

Right now UT spin doctors are on full attack to feed local media with inside information.  Mark Packer is parroting what a  UT source probably gave him with the promise of more inside info later. All I know is if UT does not settle out of court with this woman, they may win in the courtroom, but the damage in bad publicity will cost them more than money. This will be the Pearl saga over again with ESPN and CBS running the lawsuit on the bottom of the screen every football game and the announcers droning on instead of talking about the players.  Remember how they repeated the Pearl story every time before, during, and after a game? And if this goes to Federal court, do not be confident that UT will win. They will likely lose in court, but have it overturned during the appeals process.

I also believe Hart did not make the decision to force Pat out. This had to be a decision by the UT President and/or Chancellor since my opinion of them is that they are spineless politicians.  IMO Hart only carried it out and agreed to take whatever heat it caused.

For the record, I'm a Hart fan.

Hart still gets an "incomplete" from me.  My initial impressions are less than positive- but those are just impressions, and are not based on anything that really matters.  I'll wait until he starts hiring and firing coaches until I decide.

As long as he doesnt have to fire his hires we should be in good shape.
