That return was pronounced 10/19/22!
(I still get emotional thinking about that night)

I'm sorry but we not prominent yet. Prominent means we beat UF on a regular basis. Look at all the elite programs. How many times have they not won at least 10 games and weren't in the playoff discussion. There's not that many of them though. We are getting there. Who would you call the elite programs that win 10-11 games virtually every year?  Now with the portal and NIL it will be hard to sustain a good run of 10-11 win seasons. Plus the 12 team playoff has watered it down. In what world is a 10-12th ranked proven they deserve to play for a title.

And truthful. What part of what I said not truthful. Was 8-4 prominent.
Here is a list of 10-11 game winners the last 10 years. I would call the top 5 elite. Everyone else not so much. Facts not feelings.

If you EVER posted something positive about the vols 'perry, it would be your FIRST!

Being #1 in the bowl poll,
NY 6 and NYD Bowl WINS in consecutive years
20 WINS the last 2 seasons (3rd in the SEC)
8 WINS against RANKED opponents
Recruiting getting better and better
Draft choices starting to mount

ALL are EVIDENCE that we are back to prominance!

Denver Broncos (1997), Baltimore Ravens (2000), Pittsburgh Steelers (2005), New York Giants (2007), Green Bay Packers (2010), and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2020) all say hello.

We get it. You don?t like the 12 team playoff. I love the idea and the format.

I guess it depends on your definition of prominent. To me prominent means winning at least a conference title. Did you see that list? It will take more than 2 years to become prominent again. That really shows how bad we were. I didn't say that we won't be prominent again soon. We could sneak into a 12 team playoff. As for beating ranked teams, how many did we beat last year? Gotta beat some to be called relevant, much less prominent.  To me the prominent will 10-+ games regularly. Not that many teams that do that.

Never anything positive at all from this guy.

Having said that, I get his point.

The point missed is that we are way better the last three years than any stretch since 2002-2004, and it really isn't even close unless you count 2006-2008, which includes a losing season.

To state what is blindingly obvious, to most of us everyone except Volsboy, we are not elite yet.  No shizzle sherlock.  But we are MUCH better than we have been, and it's a significant step forward, and as Heupel is now going to have almost all his players and is recruiting well, we should be optimistic.

Another blindingly obvious thing bamaperry volsboy misses, is that the portal/NIL/playoffs, are VERY MUCH IN OUR FAVOR.  They do not favor the list of five from above. Volsboy, I can condense your post into the following:

DUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

And ANOTHER THING....if you look at just the last 3 years, we would average 9.0 wins/season, could for a tie with LSU at no. 9.  And LSU did win a naty in that time.

I mean really...this IS NOT rocket science!
