I know that stat has to be out there somewhere, but I can't find it without going through boxscores game by game, and I'm not going to do that. Anyway, contrast that with today, when we almost expect to see a kick and/or punt taken to the house every week, and we're almost disappointed when we don't.

Jones better be prepared to give Mark Elder a raise and/or promotion after this season, because Elder is about to be in high demand.
What are the odds that Evan Berry breaks Willie Gault's single-season kick return TD record? He's already tied it, and the competition we're facing the rest of the season isn't exactly stellar.

If Berry breaks the record, it will probably mean that some kicker either screwed up or was kicking into a massive headwind. No one in their right mind is going to kick to him at this point. I don't think UK was trying to yesterday, either. He received his one and only return chance a good 6-7 yards deep in the endzone and took it out- they probably thought it was going to be another touchback.

The reason that Berry brought that kick out of the end zone was that the UK kicker was not able to kick it deep and high so the kicks were long but FLAT so Berry was at the 15 before the first Mildcat was even reaching for him so he basically had 20 yards to build a head of steam and then Malone was blocking his ass off in front of him to "kick the kicker" out of the way and it was smooth sailing from there on. So the kicker "OUTKICKED HIS COVERAGE"

Berry will return a couple more this year.
I wish we'd get him some offensive touches

yes, but I also wonder why he or his brother aren't playing a bit more in the DB

Berry did not perform well in the first game. Saturday night he was in the game, with the game on the line a couple of series. Much improved to my eye. I believe his brother is at LB now.

Good. We need depth there, and next year, starters.

Looking at the offenses we face going forward, we're not going to be returning many kickoffs. Too bad for Evan, but that's a good thing.

His brother is a LB. He has played mostly special teams. Evan played some FS against KY - and will probably play more as CBJ said he looked good. He did not look good in the first game at FS. I still think he would help us on offense
