You will just love ?The Fall of the House of Usher? on Netflix. It?s basically a love letter to Poe with references to his works and his life scattered throughout. I was never a hardcore Poe fan. I knew about his greatest hits (The Raven, The telltale Heart, and?that?s about it😉) but I was entertained by this show even without catching all the references. I read a synopsis afterward that explained it all and was just blown away.

Mike Flanagan (Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass, etc) has really become the master of modern horror.  He goes beyond the typical slasher/haunted house/jump scares and injects some real complexity into his shows. ?Thinking man?s horror?, if you will.

There was a point when in High School I was all in on Poe, had 4-5 of his books, etc.
I haven't read anything from Poe in quite some time.
Maybe I should, again

All men dream: but not equally.
Those who Dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds
Wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the
Dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they
May act their dream with open eyes, to make it Possible.
This I did.
—T. E. Lawrence,
The Seven Pillars of Wisdom
