They always play a physical style of football with big...smart offensive linemen and they also have the luxury of playing on the weak side division of the Big 10. I like them and their style of play. Usually when they come up against teams with speed is when they have issues. Most thought they had a chance of winning the Big 10 championship last year but when the dust cleared OSU beat them 59-0.....Brett thought he'd bring that Wisconsin style to the SEC at Ark and found out it didn't work with SEC teams with size and speed.

Yeah they are kind of like Nebraska in the 80s and 90s, who had lots of big corn-fed OL from their home state. Except in Wisconsin they eat cheese, not corn.

Great question. Presumably proximity to Chicago helps. They're about as close as Notre Dame, just in a different direction.

OSU with Urban recruited like an SEC team. Wisconsin recruits like a typical BIG kankel league team. They have trouble against athletic teams. That's the reason the Bucknuts dominated the BIG under Urban. They played and recruited more like an SEC team.

I'd ask the same of Mizzou. They recruit a lot like Wisconsin, but play in the SEC. They usually have a good team, and do again this year

Missouri is a case study for how to win without high-profile recruits. Coaches change, conferences change, and they remain pretty good. They'll never beat the top-tier SEC teams, never win an SEC championship, but they do more with less than anyone else in Power 5 football.

They have been in 2 SECC games, and came close to winning one

Yeah, who knows, they might pull it off one day. Hope we continue to improve this season. Would love to beat them. We should not have a losing series record to Mizzou, but we do.

They joined the conference at the right time. UGa, UF were a little down at the time. If UGa, UF and UT ever get to top form, Mizzou will not get close to an SECC.

It's true that Missouri took advantage of a weak SEC East to make their two SECCG appearances. Their formula is never going to make them a top-tier SEC team, but they have the fourth-most potential in the East, behind UGA, UF and UT. And, of course, as long as any of those teams aren't living up to their potential (go Vols!) that's to Mizzou's advantage.

And so they aren't that good. Would get clobbered by 4-5 sec teams, and UT might beat em!

Classic case of walking on the field and thinking that was all they had to do to win....The way we approached the GA State game..by the team and staff.
