All men dream: but not equally.
Those who Dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds
Wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the
Dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they
May act their dream with open eyes, to make it Possible.
This I did.

Yes, consider yourself under fire for attaching my sliders (In 'N' Out)!

The other chain that always comes up in the “best fast food burger” argument is Whataburger. We just got them in our area, and I tried them for the first time. Very good, but doesn’t compare to InO.

For my money, the burgers at Pals and Whata-A-Burger are no better than those you can get at Sonic.  I'll take a burger from Wendy's or Burger King over all three of them.

I do, however, like the dogs from Pals.

Whataburger is my favorite burger place, especially the Fort Worth Stockyards location after seeing a show at Billy Bob's Texas.  My usual is a Monterrey Melt and a Chocolate Malt.

And I will say this - there is a huge difference in the corporate owned locations in Texas and the franchised locations that are popping up outside of the state of Texas.  I have a feeling those will be pulled back before all is said done.  Quality control is tough in that situation.

And I really like Pal's, too.  We often go through the one at the Tennessee/Virginia state line when on our way to visit our son, daughter in law, and our two grandkids that are in Northern Virginia.

The Whopper is the best hamburger you can get at a drive-thru. The Baconator from Wendy's runs second. Nobody can convince me otherwise.

Honestly can't remember the last time I went to Burger King, most likely in 2012 when we were on the Post at Fort Campbell waiting in the middle of the night for our son to return from a year in Afghanistan and that was the only thing open at the PX.

Speaking of Texas exports, another one new to our area is Buc-ees. There’s one currently open over in Fort Valley, and another opening soon in A-O. I may have to make a little road trip.

Two more have been announced in East Tennessee:

One at the Genesis Road exit of I-40 in Crossville, and the largest one that they will have built to date is going in at the 407 exit, which is the Sevierville/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg exit.  It's going to be adjacent to where the new Cherokee Nation Casino is going to be built.
