Florida (#10) is the only other SEC team in the poll.

Bruce Pearl tweets this: "The biggest surprise and mistake in the AP Poll? @Vol_Hoops not listed! That's ok, Coach Martin's teams play better mad!#norespect"

I'm consistently amazed that a former coach who was fired from a school can handle it with as much class and character as Pearl has. He's been super supportive of Cuonzo and the hoops program.

Btw, Memphis is #13 in the preseason poll. Keep a close eye on the Tigers this year. Some folks think that if they crash and burn this year, Pastner will be fired and replaced with Pearl. I wouldn't bet against it. Pearl is cozying up to the powerbrokers in the Memphis program and it would be a great fit for him. I would hate to see it (hopefully UT's rivalry with Memphis would forever end), but I would prefer that to Pearl winding up at an SEC school.

I love Bruce and wish the absolute best for him, but I hope like hell that Memphis is not where he lands. Not the SEC, and not Memphis. Anywhere else, Bruce, and I will root for you to succeed.

Yep.  Even if the on-court rivalry is ending, we still have to recruit against them every day of every year.  They already own Shelby county; with Bruce, they would own the entire state.

Stuff like this reopens the wound and makes me miss him all over again.
