We were playing the slots almost exclusively with inside technique.
Outside we were playing straight up most of the time

One thing, that has now continued for 2 years is that we rarely play press (yesterday Burrell was the only DB to press).  We give 10 yards (or more), allow the receiver to make his move and the react (SLOWLY).  That is one reason we get beat by the slant all too often
On 3rd down and they are in a bunch formation we have a safety 20 yards off the receiver and then watch and react.  If that is the "correct" play called then FIRE the defensive coaches (ALL of them)! Or, we line a ILB on a star TE who has no chance to cover him effectively

We blitzed a LOT more yesterday than we had been.  It was effective a few times but often Trask just played pitch and catch to the abandoned receiver. when we blitzed a db.  (at least) twice it was up to Henry T to cover said receiver.  First down every time.
Also, a couple of times Bailey did the same thing.  However, UF's safeties are far, far quicker and faster than ours

Also, on the intentional grounding that took us out of FG range and cost Bailey his PT, no receiver ran a hot route.  NONE.

I thought we worried too much about disguising blitzes, and thus had rushers with too much ground to cover. Also, the defensive front did a poor job clearing lanes.

I agree on the blitz packages
Our best secondary blitzers are Thompson and Taylor.
Most of the time they come from the slot coverage.
Yesterday we bought Burrell (playing AT's position) and he was too slow and ineffective.  In at least one instance the deception piece forced Henry T to go from the hash to the boundary to cover a WR.  A hopeless task (for anyone), easy pitch and catch.

If we are going to stay in man coverage against 4 and 5 wide, stay in dime and keep the secondary personnel on the field with Henry T patrolling the middle. If they play more conventional, bring 22 in to play LB (he does most of the time anyway)
