Selfishly, I couldn’t care less who wins that award that shall not be named. I’m sure that a lot of others, including HH, would love for him to win it. For that reason only, I would like for him to win it.

Having said that, the Award that shall not be named is secondary to several other things.

The heisman was not worthy of Peyton.  It did not deserve to have Manning’s name associated with it.  Peyton > heisman

Could we have been under a curse since the VOLS letters were removed from the stadium, and maybe lifted and then some since they have been replaced double?  Just sayin.

A local Cajun food truck sells it at work. I would have gone for a second helping on Friday but ended up teleworking all day.

Plenty of time for a second helping next week though.   

As an aside, the food truck is from local restaurant Tim's Cajun Kitchen. If you ever go to Huntsville check it out. Pretty much everything on the menu is excellent.

That happens every time I watch a replay of the 1997 SEC Championship Game. Keith Jackson and Bob Griese are talking about whether or not Peyton should win the Heisman and who they are voting for.

Griese says that he is voting for Peyton. I always liked Keith Jackson but he won't say who he voted for even though Griese seems to make it clear that Jackson didn't vote for Peyton. What Jackson does say is that "Peyton got what he came back for, an SEC Championship. What he didn't get was to beat Florida."

I didn't know that beating one team was the criteria for winning the Heisman.

It makes me mad every time I hear him say that.

And I have never watched a Heisman presentation show since that year.

Michigan was 7-7 on their last 14 games before the NCAAT. I said before the tournament started that I didn't think they deserved a spot in the field 😂.
I sadly agree with this, I think. Sadly because I think he's a great person and a great representative for the university, but I'll just be very surprised AND extremely happy if he is ever successful in the NCAAT.

I’m very happy to have Barnes.  Everybody needs to remember this is Tennessee basketball.  Barnes has us on a an upward trajectory.  If he regularly gets us in the NCAAT that is a big step up.  Over time it will get better and we should be in great shape to hire his replacement when that time comes.

I thought the game experience was great.  Much improved over the last several times I had been.  We heard the band more.  Did not feel like I was constantly being bombarded with commercials on the Jumbotron.  Thought the DJ dude was great.  The light effects at night were great.
