I don't know about that.  You do realize they lost Tyler Wilson for the second half, and perhaps the season.  The difference with and without him is night and day.  I think they deserved the top 10 rating with him.

Of course, the coaching thing factors in also, but John L Smith deserved a chance to prove he could do it.

Second greatest fall ever. Michigan dropped out from #5 after losing to App State.
