We definitely would’ve made a better showing. I mean when we played them Vic Bailey was still starting and ZZ, BHH, and JA were getting little to no minutes.

But would we have beaten them? Tough to say. Jay Wright is the best in the business, IMO. He’s the last guy I want to see in March.

What is bad is Jay Wright was recommended for the UT Basketball job from Ernie Grunfield. Instead Doug Dickey listened to Roy Williams and Dean Smith and hired Buzz Peterson. Jay Wright was at Sienna then. He went to Villanova and the rest is history.
