Title: ok...we're stuck with Butch another year. What has to happen Post by: Volznut on October 04, 2015, 05:07:39 EDT debord and Jancek need to go end of season. Same with Azzani. Mahoney. Hire some competent coaches.
Bench Dobbs. Go with Dormady the rest of the year. Title: Re: ok...we're stuck with Butch another year. What has to happen Post by: BanditVol on October 04, 2015, 03:15:41 EDT I'm okay with staff changes, but not wholesale like you suggest. we did that with Dooley in 2011 and it was a disaster.
I'm not sure about Jancek yet. To me, the D has played really well for most of the game but then lost it in the 4th. I think this has generally been true with the exception of two drives by Arkansas in this game. But if you look at OU and UF, depth had a lot to do with it. So a staff shakeup might be the way to go, but IMO it will only get you so far. It also depends on how this season goes. If Butch does a lot worse than expected, what good coach would want to come here? And would he do better than Sunseri did? Title: Re: ok...we're stuck with Butch another year. The D did not play well last night. Arky stopped themselves more than we stopped them. Their QB missed a lot of open receivers early. We couldn't tackle long hair and the QB all night.I'm not sure about Jancek yet. To me, the D has played really well for most of the game but then lost it in the 4th. Yeah, that we kept giving up runs to that rastafarian-hair-wearing POS made me ill. But Arkansas does have one of the best OL in CFB. I wonder if their OL coach is available? :banghead: Title: Re: ok...we're stuck with Butch another year. Say what you want about Brooks, but I can't count the number of times we were completely rebuilding the DT in the 00s, and every year a DT or two would emerge and be great. The man knew and could develop talent, whatever issues anyone else had with him. Title: Re: ok...we're stuck with Butch another year.
