His history as a coordinator is very short-- 2 years solo, one as co-DC. I think it's a risky hire.

No real thoughts; never heard of him.

Probably could've done worse, but definitely could've done better IMO.

I bet they had to seriously overpay. This is a guy with relatively little experience as a coordinator, none as a head coach, very little time east of the Mississippi, and no connections in the SEC recruiting area-- and he's going to be making SEC head coach money.

It could turn out well for Vandy, but there's a lot to overcome there.

I agree it's a bit of a risk, but they're Vandy. They're going to have to take a chance, not a lot of well established and experienced coaches are going to coach at Vandy.

Would that be Fred Gruden from French Lick High School  or Wilbur Gruden from Hooterville High School?

According to ESPN, he has been offered the job and is working out the contract details.  But he has not been introduced yet.  I am not saying he will not or has not accepted the job.  Just no formal announcement.

The play ain't over til the Fat Lady sings.

I think we have witnessed the peak of Vandy football. Vandy will now return to their rightful place.

I thought he was the former NFL WR at first, but not the case.

Vandy fans need have no fear.  He plans to win the East.

"SEC East title, here we come," said Mason during his introductory press conference at Vanderbilt Saturday.
