His history as a coordinator is very short-- 2 years solo, one as co-DC. I think it's a risky hire.

I bet they had to seriously overpay. This is a guy with relatively little experience as a coordinator, none as a head coach, very little time east of the Mississippi, and no connections in the SEC recruiting area-- and he's going to be making SEC head coach money. It could turn out well for Vandy, but there's a lot to overcome there. |

It could turn out well for Vandy, but there's a lot to overcome there.
I agree it's a bit of a risk, but they're Vandy. They're going to have to take a chance, not a lot of well established and experienced coaches are going to coach at Vandy. |

According to ESPN, he has been offered the job and is working out the contract details. But he has not been introduced yet. I am not saying he will not or has not accepted the job. Just no formal announcement.
