Title: Credit for the defense Post by: BigOrange Maniac on September 11, 2011, 04:24:14 EDT Once they adjusted to Cincinnati's hurry-up approach, they played well. Take away a touchdown off a fumble, Pead's 65-yard-run that came after breaking two tackles at the line of scrimmage, and Cincy has just one sustained touchdown drive. (Even then they benefited from a VERY questionable pass interference penalty.) All the talk surrounding this game was about Cincy's high-powered offense. I don't really like our bend-but-don't-break approach; I was begging for more blitzes. But that is Wilcox's approach and it's hard to argue its effectiveness on a day like this.
As excited as I am about our passing attack, our defense looks like it might be much improved from last year. When the defender has established a position and the receiver initiates contact, how the hell is that PI??As excited as I am about our passing attack, our defense looks like it might be much improved from last year. |
