Title: Need your help Post by: Salvador VOLi on November 24, 2011, 03:48:02 EST So, I consider myself a bit of a Photoshop fan and my wife challenged me to fix a photo of our girls. I did so but she isn't sure about the results. So, this is where you all come in. Can anyone tell what was photoshopped in this picture? It is okay if you can, I was just wondering if it is obvious.

Maybe the invisible dog in the foreground (excellent work by the way. I can't even see it at all). Cute little girls by the way.

Title: Re: Need your help Post by: Salvador VOLi on November 26, 2011, 01:10:20 EST In case anyone was wondering, here is the original photo. As you can see, I composited this photo with another photo that had a better smile of my younger daughter from another photo.

a) Yes, it's obvious, and b) I prefer the original anyway. The original smile is charming and, I suspect, more indicative of her personality. That said, I don't care for photoshop except for funsies. The intent of a photograph for me is to capture the moment, and the original photo does that very well. Two different children, two different personalities. I give the original a big  Title: Re: Need your help Post by: Stogie Vol on November 26, 2011, 01:39:47 EST I couldn't tell, but my wife could. We both like the original better, but both are great pics of beautiful girls.

I agree that photography is best unaltered and "in the moment", but sometimes it is difficult with two tired little girls to get them both on the same page. I guess I will work on my photoshop skills so it won't be quite as obvious next time. Title: Re: Need your help Post by: Great Vols of Fire on November 26, 2011, 02:57:47 EST Hope I didn't offend. Photoshop is fun but I'm not good at it. I guess the days of my taking two rolls of film just to get one useable photo for the Christmas card are too far gone. Things are much simpler now. The girls are beautiful, by the way.
Title: Re: Need your help Post by: BigOrange Maniac on November 26, 2011, 03:17:34 EST Nice work with Photoshop. I don't think it's going to be obvious to very many people. I don't think there's anything wrong with using Photoshop to make a composite photo...It's very difficult to take a photo of two or more children and have it turn out perfect. Photoshop allows us to correct that...might as well put it to work.
