His father (a member of the coaching staff) had passed away that summer. He was flagged 15 yards on the ensuing KO for unsportsmanlike. The coach asked him what the did and he told him. The coach said it was OK and they would take 15 every time if he wanted to do it some more. In defense of the official, he wasn't close enough to hear what the player said and it was a new rule that the officials had been told to enforce strictly.
