If you're not in a rush and not set on a particular brand/model, my advice is to browse the deal forums such as slickdeals and fatwallet. They often turn up deals that I wouldn't have found otherwise. You can use Amazon (or google) to find reviews on most of the products you find deals for. Sometimes the best deal is Amazon, sometimes it's Walmart, sometimes a web-only electronics store, and even Best Buy and other box stores on occasion. Google and sites like pricegrabber are usually pretty good for comparing prices, but they don't always pick up on the best deals. CNet wasn't too impressed with it when it came out. Here's their review:

The large one in my living room is a 2009 model, and although it doesn't have 3D, streaming services, or any of the other bells and whistles you find in today's sets, I'll put its picture quality up against anything on the market. Title: Re: Best website to use shopping to buy TV, dvd, player etc. Post by: Black Diamond Vol on May 01, 2012, 03:43:10 EDT Tigerdirect.com I used to swear by them, but not anymore. First I ordered a 32" TV from them that showed up with a shattered screen. When I called and asked if I could exchange it, they said they were out of stock and wouldn't be getting any more (They did refund my money). Then I ordered a laptop. It was supposed to be new, not a refurb, but when it arrived it was locked with a previous owner's password. So I'm done with Tigerdirect. :frown: |
