We cannot compete in the SEC.....period

Run game did fine in the first half.  We had to abandon it in the second

Running game was so so in the first he.  But Defense sued in 2nd half, which forced us to abandon run game.   We are not here we need to be to compete in the SEC!

Agree our d was the issue in the second half.  Burton should have been tacled after a 15 or 20 yard game. Then the player who whiffed on him blew an assignment on their long td pass.

No we didn't We had a 20-13 lead, stuffed their fake punt. We had zero reason to abandon the run, but we did, and threw, got an intentional grounding, got nothing instead of going on a nice drive and going up 27-13. That was the turning point. After that we still didn't need to abandon the run, but we did. Remember the run wasn't doing badly. I really hate Chaney ball

If Dooley doesn't go Chaney needs to be shown the door,IMO

Hm, well, I blame that on Tyler.  It actually made sense to try a throw on first down there.  It's very common to try and take advantage of a big turning point (in this case the stopped fake punt).  Tyler had absolutely no reason to throw it into the flat with no one there.  Taking a sack would have been better.  At that point, on second and long, how can you run?

I wouldn't peg it to that particular play.   

I think the back breaker was Burton's long run, and he simply brushed aside a player who could have made the tackle.

Kiffin hired Chaney. I am tired of him abandoning the run game. I'm over Chaney, we need a OC who will establish a run game.

Disagree. That was the turning point. We were ahead 20-13, and had the ball in great FP. The Bray penalty put us back and we had to kick it to them, and they immediately give up a 80 yard run. Yes that was bad defense, but the offense should have gotten some points on that drive.

I don't disagree, but calling a pass in that situation on first down was not a bad call.  The problem was that Bray panicked and threw the ball into the flat with no receiver in a 10-yard radius.  He would have been better off taking a sack.

Chaney is a very impatient playcaller. He has always been pass happy, and it won't play in the SEC these days.

I think I agree with your assessment that the run game was abandoned too early. Neal was getting some decent yards. I was surprised on many of the 3 and outs that Bray was flinging it everywhere. Between that and the D doing their best impression of our (Auburn's) D, Florida was destined to own the second half.  They are looking like a great 2nd half team this year.

Without UF penalties in the first half, we probably lose that half as well.

I don't think so at all.  We had our own penalties that killed a drive in the first that might have gone for a TD otherwise.

On balance, though I am sick at this loss, we are a much, much better team this year.  Don't lose sight of that.

Chaney in that situation has ALWAYS went for the immediate score. Mit's his MO.

Agree with Nut that getting nothing for the stuffed punt was the turning point.

Actually (in the college game) it doesn't make any difference due to the penalty involved. It's a spot foul and the ball is placed at the point of infraction and loss of down. If you get sacked,then the ball is placed at that point (same as grounding) and you lose the down (same as grounding). No big deal but I"ve wondered why the penalty is not more severe.
