Title: Ryder Cup: US leads 5-3 after day one
Post by: Black Diamond Vol on September 29, 2012, 02:00:44 EDT
They usually spend the first two days digging themselves an enormous hole, and try to climb out on Sunday (usually unsuccessfully).  So maybe this is a good sign.

Probably be 6-2 if Tiget sat for a match, something I'd love to see tomorrow as his record in the Ryder Cup suxes greatly

I don't know if anyone could match Colsaerts 8 birdies and 1 eagle in the afternoon round. The morning match he tanked but played well in the afternoon match. Just not good enough. Was lucky to have a chance to tie at the end.

Yep, his rep as a "match play master" was earned mostly as an amateur.  His RC record has been abysmal.  He earned his way on to the team this year, but I did not agree with the decision to use a captain's pick on him two years ago.

And we're leading early in all four morning matches.

We win 3 of 4 morning matches for a commanding 8-4 lead.  We're also leading in 3 of 4 afternoon matches.  The one we're trailing?  You guessed it, Tiger and Stricker, who are 3 down through 4. :frown:
