Title: MSU's schedule Post by: BanditVol on October 07, 2012, 09:59:37 EDT Jackson State W 56-9 Auburn W 28-10 Troy W 30-24 South Alabama W 30-10 @Kentucky W 27-14 So they're 5-0, but so what? Have they really played anyone yet? I have to look at the schedule and think we are their toughest opponent yet. Auburn might give us a game, but they looked so pitiful yesterday at home that I doubt it. So we have played NC State who upset FSU, Florida who just beat LSU and Uga, who, although they just got creamed by USCe, I still think is better than any team MSU has played. And we could have perhaps beaten Uga and/or UF. MSU is ranked and undefeated, but I have to look at their schedule and shrug. Title: Re: MSU's schedule Post by: Volznut on October 07, 2012, 10:47:23 EDT Auburn is awful. No QB = no offense. May win 3 games.
You are right in that they have played no one, but they're a pretty good team. I think this is a winnable game for us though. Title: Re: MSU's schedule Post by: BanditVol on October 07, 2012, 10:48:24 EDT And here are the records of the teams they have played:
Jackson State W 56-9 2-4 and an FCS school Auburn W 28-10 1-4 and looking pitiful Troy W 30-24 3-2 and maybe the best team they have played? South Alabama W 30-10 1-4 nuff said @Kentucky W 27-14 1-5 and .... it's Kentucky Here is our schedule NC State W 35-21 4-2 and just beat FSU GSU W 59-13 0-6 FCS school Florida L 37-20 3-2 Coulda shoulda? Akron W 47-26 1-5 pretty bad team Uga L 51-44 5-1 but just got hammered by USCe Without question, we have played a much tougher schedule. They have pretty much not played anyone respectable. Having said that, it's going to be a tough game. But I think we can win.... Title: Re: MSU's schedule Post by: Inspector Vol on October 08, 2012, 03:15:45 EDT We should be 5-0. We aren't.
Football isn't rocket science. Playing containment as an end or outside lb can't be that much different in a 3-4 as opposed to a 4-3. If we could do that little thing and tackle just a little better, oh and the not lay down and quit thing, we would be 5-0 but we aren't and left wondering if we can handle a MSU team that hasn't played anyone. That is why I said we need to run them off the field Saturday. I will take a win if we can get one but we really should be able to thump them pretty good. I'll hang up and listen. We didn't lay down and quit against uga, not that I could see. I will be happy with a win over MSU, period. I am also pretty sure we can handle them, and there is a decent chance we can flat out rout them. But I'll take a regular win. A win by 1 is just as good as one by 50. Tackling and containment obviously needs to improve. Hope it does. Dude...we wouldn't give the Little Blind and Deaf Sisters of the Poor a good game. We are turable, turable, turable this year. We really should make you feel better about your situation overall. Dooley will look like a friggin genious if you compare him to Chizik. And don't forget, the only reason we won a MNC was that we paid 200 big ones for a once-in-a-lifetime QB. We are back in the basement. :banghead: Title: Re: MSU's schedule Post by: BanditVol on October 08, 2012, 06:31:01 EDT Dude...we wouldn't give the Little Blind and Deaf Sisters of the Poor a good game. Hope you guys turn it around, bama needs a strong in-state opponent.
