If you don't have unlimited data, you could wait for the upgrade to 4.1, which will allow you to download maps for use offline.
If you have to have a dedicated GPS unit, Garmin used to be the best (I haven't bought one in several years). Their maps don't look as good as TomTom or Magellan, but they're the most accurate (or at least they used to be). |
