Because MSU is always exactly like it was when Fulmer and Majors were the coach. They're not in the top 20 now. They don't have a good QB. They don't have a really good up and coming coach either. With Bray, Hunter, and Patterson all likely gone and road games at Oregon, Florida, and Bama? Nope, obviously not next year. We're just lil' ole Tennessee- we can't be expected to lose good players and just reload like those big time programs do. So lets give him yet another year. But clearly, beating MSU is a challenge for our current team. Our offense played well enough to win last night, but we struggled on D. Which is exactly what happens when you completely replace a defensive staff. And if your current coach isn't getting it done, the solution isn't to stick with him out of fear that his replacement might fail as well. You have to keep trying. |
