Might be Covington out of West Tennessee hate to say seeing as they were the big rival when I played HS ball but they are undefeated.

DB is awfully good and I've been voting them No. 1 in 6A for much of the season. But if tradition holds, they'll lose in the first round of the playoffs. (And since they have Bearden, that might not be much of a stretch.) So I'd say Maryville is the best team in the state.

The biggest calamity is in 2A, where there weren't enough East TN teams playoff eligible to fill the first quad brackett, so geography bound Silverdale Academy and Boyd Buchanan over to the first quad. Of the six teams in the quad, you have the state's No. 2 team, No. 3 team, No. 6 team, No. 7 team and No. 8 team. The other team is Rockwood, which isn't ranked due to its tough schedule but is probably better than either the No. 7 team or the No. 8 team . . . and maybe the No. 6 team.

The 6A first quad is murderous as well, but at least those teams are all legitimately in districts 1-4.

Very likely on both counts. I saw thier game vs each other earlier in the year and it could have gone either way though the score became a bit unbalanced. Alcoa just didn't have the depth of Maryville.

A shocker to Me is East Hamilton being 9-1. Signal Mountain at 7-3 will be a tough team to beat, they're hot right now(won 6 in a row)
